Hi everyone! This is our 10th installment of Enigma’s weekly community updates. Our goal is to be as transparent and collaborative as possible, and we appreciate all your insights and perspectives. Below is a summary of what we have been doing since last Friday. You may track our current dev sprint on this GitHub project board.
Highlight: April 2020 Development Update
This week, our dev team has been working on the node registration process, which involves generating and sealing key pairs inside SGX enclaves. Also, @toml replaced the crypto library we used in enigma-core to an audited one. @reuven has been collaborating with the CosmWasm team, fixing issues related to gas fees. Overall, we are focused on our third and final milestone on the path to running CosmWasm in SGX with encryption.
We’re also participating in the Game of Zones, an adversarial testnet designed to prepare the Cosmos ecosystem for the launch of the IBC module. Our dev team has created an IBC zone, which relayers will use to interact with our “Secret Zone.” The competition began earlier this week, and our team is excited to see how it goes!
Our community is planning an incentivized testnet called The Secret Games, which is going to involve SCRT rewards for testnet validators who have SGX-enabled nodes, along with prizes for nontechnical contributions. We are collectively deciding what kinds of participation are most important for the development and growth of the Secret Network. Join the discussion happening in the Secret Foundation RocketChat.
The product team has been focused on the data flow for a user interacting with a secret contract, and we’re preparing to communicate how encryption works in the Enigma blockchain. This involves defining the name, purpose, holder, creation process and storage location of each type of user action. Stay tuned for details.
As our team continues to make progress toward integrating secret contract functionality, we are improving our developer onboarding process. The goal is to make it as easy as possible for Rust developers to build and deploy contracts on the Enigma testnet. Please let us know any feedback on this documentation:

This week, our team shared an exciting update on Enigma MPC’s alignment with the Secret Foundation. We hope this new organization helps our community grow bigger and stronger, facilitating collaboration by coordinating projects and resources. Overall, the network and its ecosystem will benefit from greater community engagement.
All are welcome to share any thoughts in our weekly calls. Your feedback is extremely valuable to us, and Enigma’s core team is grateful for your contributions! Please let us know if you need help submitting a proposal using our on-chain governance module.
